Maybe it’s time to find out what it’s really about.

You’ve probably heard of the Freemasons.
You may recognize the Square and Compasses. You may know someone who is a Mason. You may have driven past a Masonic Lodge hundreds of times.
But what actually happens inside?
And why, after hundreds of years, do men still choose to become Freemasons?
Those are fair questions.
And on Monday, October 12, you’re invited to ask them.
An Evening for Men Who Are Curious About Freemasonry
Union Star Lodge No. 320 is opening its doors to host a FREE special Monroe Masonic District event devoted to one of the most basic questions about Freemasonry:
What can Freemasonry offer a man today?
Our featured speaker will be R∴W∴ Michael LaRocco, Executive Director of the Robert R. Livingston Masonic Library of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York.
His presentation, “Freemasonry — The Craft of Self-Actualization: A Western Path to Enlightenment,” will explore how the traditions and principles of Freemasonry encourage a man to better understand himself, challenge his assumptions, and continue the lifelong work of becoming the man he wants to be.
But you don’t need to know anything about Freemasonry to attend.
In fact, curiosity is enough. Are you curious?
[YES — I’M CURIOUS. SAVE ME A SEAT]
Have You Ever Wondered…

What do Freemasons actually do?
Why do Masons have ceremonies, symbols and traditions?
Is Freemasonry a religion?
Why is some of it private?
What does it mean when Masons talk about “making good men better”?
What kind of men become Masons today?
And how do you know whether Freemasonry might be right for you?
You don’t have to search the internet for the answers.
Come meet some Masons and ask them yourself.
No Sales Pitch. No Obligation.
This isn’t a membership drive.
Nobody is going to ask you to fill out a petition when you walk through the door.
Come for the program. Ask questions. Meet Masons from Union Star and other lodges throughout the Monroe District.
Then stick around and discover another important part of Freemasonry:
Fellowship.
THEN STAY FOR MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

After the presentation, you’re invited to join us for a Monday Night Football Watch Party as the Buffalo Bills take on the Los Angeles Rams.
Because Freemasonry isn’t only about what happens during a meeting.
It’s also about friendships.
It’s about sitting around a table, sharing a meal, swapping stories, laughing—and sometimes arguing over whether that really was pass interference.
And with Masons from across the Monroe District joining us, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet people, ask questions, and discover for yourself what Masonic fellowship feels like.
Union Star will provide the pizza and soft drinks.
You provide the cheers.
Come for the questions.
Stay for the game.
And somewhere in between, get to know the men behind the Square and Compasses.
